Overview
Provides direct advocacy and support to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault. Works with individuals and families to assess needs, ensure safety, and connect them to resources such as housing, legal services, and counseling.
Pay
$22.00 – $25.00 per hour
Schedule
Monday – Friday, standard office hours
Some evenings, weekends, and on-call responsibilities required
Responsibilities
- Provides advocacy and crisis support to survivors in English and Spanish
- Conducts safety planning and needs assessments
- Assists clients with accessing shelter, legal, medical, and community resources
- Accompanies clients to court, hospital, or other appointments as needed
- Facilitates support groups and coordinates logistics
- Responds to crisis calls and participates in on-call rotation
- Maintains accurate case notes, records, and reporting
- Conducts outreach and education on domestic and sexual violence
- Collaborates with team members and community partners
- Supports awareness campaigns and prevention efforts
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, or related field required
- Experience in crisis intervention or advocacy preferred
- Bilingual in English and Spanish required
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to manage multiple tasks in high-stress situations
- Knowledge of community resources and trauma-informed care
- Valid driver’s license, reliable vehicle, and insurance required
