Position Overview

Minneapolis Public Schools is seeking a bilingual Spanish-English Elementary Teacher to teach 3rd Grade at Emerson Spanish Immersion for the 2026-2027 school year. This position is responsible for delivering high-quality, standards-based instruction in a Spanish immersion environment while fostering academic growth, critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and student engagement. Teachers collaborate with colleagues, families, and the community to create a supportive and culturally responsive learning environment.

Qualifications & Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
• Valid Minnesota Elementary Teaching License or proof of pending approved licensure
• Bilingual Spanish/English required
• Prior student teaching or teaching experience in an urban, multicultural educational setting preferred
• Knowledge of Minnesota State Standards and instructional best practices
• Experience using assessment data to guide instruction
• Strong classroom management and communication skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with families, staff, and community partners
• Commitment to ongoing professional development
• Master’s degree or PhD preferred
