Responsibilities
- Greets and assists patients and the public over the phone in a professional manner
- Provides information and directions internally and externally
- Operates switchboard and communication systems
- Handles emergency procedures including calls, overhead announcements, and alerts
- Performs paging and electronic notifications
- Completes additional tasks as assigned
- Works within a 24/7 communication center and must be flexible with shifts
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required
- Minimum 2 years of customer service experience
- Basic computer, keyboarding, and telephone skills required
- Strong attention to detail, memory, and concentration
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and teamwork skills
- Ability to work independently and handle high-pressure situations
- Preferred: vocational training or prior switchboard/telephone operator experience
Schedule
Evening/overnight shifts (8-hour shifts)
Typical hours include 1:00pm–9:30pm, 2:30pm–11:00pm, or 10:45pm–6:45am
Includes every other weekend and holidays
