About the Role

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join the Medical Oncology Unit (Eisenberg 44-43). This unit provides inpatient and outpatient care for adult patients with solid tumors, supporting patients through diagnosis, active treatment, recovery, and end-of-life care. Nurses work within Mayo Clinic’s Relationship-Based Care model to deliver compassionate, evidence-based oncology care.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver comprehensive nursing care for oncology patients.
• Administer chemotherapy, infusion therapy, antibiotics, and central line care.
• Provide symptom management, discharge planning, and patient/family education.
• Offer emotional support throughout the cancer care journey.
• Collaborate with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams.
• Participate in quality improvement initiatives and serve as a mentor or preceptor when appropriate.
• Maintain accurate documentation using electronic medical records.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program (ACEN, CCNE, or NLN CNEA).
• One year of RN experience required.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification (within 90 days of hire).
• Strong communication, leadership, critical thinking, and teamwork skills.
• Experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including days, evenings, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.

Schedule

• Full-Time (48–72 hours per pay period)
• Rotating 8- or 12-hour day, evening, and night shifts
• Variable weekend schedule.
