About the Role

Mayo Clinic is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join its Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in Mankato. In this role, you’ll provide high-quality, patient-centered critical care while coordinating treatment plans, educating patients and families, and collaborating with a multidisciplinary healthcare team. Nurses practice within Mayo Clinic’s Relationship-Based Care model, delivering compassionate, evidence-based care.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and deliver comprehensive nursing care for critically ill patients.
• Provide direct patient care, patient and family education, and care transitions.
• Plan, implement, evaluate, and communicate all phases of patient care.
• Collaborate with physicians and interdisciplinary care teams.
• Serve as a preceptor or mentor and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
• Delegate patient care appropriately based on patient acuity and staff experience.
• Maintain accurate documentation using electronic medical records.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• One year of RN experience in a relevant care setting preferred, or one year of LPN experience at Mayo Clinic.
• Strong communication, critical thinking, leadership, and teamwork skills.
• Experience with electronic medical record systems preferred.
• Ability to work flexible schedules, including days, nights, weekends, holidays, and on-call shifts.

Schedule

• Full-Time (60 hours per pay period)
• 12-hour day/night rotating shifts
• Every third weekend and holiday rotation.
