McGough is seeking a Program Manager – Technology Evaluation to lead the company’s emerging technology pilot and R&D initiatives. This role oversees the intake, evaluation, governance, and portfolio management of technology pilots to ensure initiatives are clearly structured, measurable, budget-aware, and aligned with enterprise priorities.
The Program Manager works closely with business teams, IT, Product Managers, Business Analysts, and Emerging Technology leadership to define pilot objectives, success criteria, timelines, risks, and evaluation frameworks. The role also provides executive-level reporting, tracks pilot performance and spending, and helps determine whether initiatives should scale, pivot, or close.
Responsibilities
- Lead and refine McGough’s technology pilot and evaluation processes, including intake, governance, milestone tracking, and closure procedures.
- Maintain visibility across active R&D and pilot initiatives while monitoring risks, outcomes, budgets, and timelines.
- Develop pilot charters outlining scope, milestones, evaluation criteria, risks, budget expectations, and measurable success metrics.
- Partner with stakeholders, Product Managers, and Business Analysts to clarify objectives, assumptions, business problems, and pilot strategies.
- Assess whether initiatives should move forward, pivot, redirect, or discontinue based on evaluation outcomes.
- Provide portfolio updates, insights, and strategic recommendations to Emerging Technology leadership.
- Coordinate transition plans for successful pilots moving into operational implementation.
- Participate in IT and Emerging Technology team initiatives, Lean efforts, training activities, and company events.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of experience in technology project management, innovation programs, R&D coordination, or digital initiative evaluation.
- Bachelor’s degree in technology, engineering, information systems, or related field, or equivalent additional experience.
- Experience evaluating software or emerging technologies and guiding pilot initiatives from concept through decision-making.
- Ability to create structured pilot plans, evaluation frameworks, milestones, and measurable success criteria.
- Experience coordinating cross-functional teams without direct authority and communicating with both operational teams and executive leadership.
- Strong organizational, analytical, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Preferred qualifications include experience with AI-enabled tools, automation, construction technology platforms, enterprise software evaluation, and collaboration with Product Managers, Business Analysts, or Enterprise Architecture teams.
- Master’s degree preferred.
Payment
Salary range: $138,000 – $163,000 annually.

Schedule
Full-time hybrid position.
Approximately 10% travel for training, collaboration, and regional activities.
Location
Roseville/St. Paul, Minnesota.
Occasional visits to active construction job sites may be required.
