Position Summary

Aspen Waste Systems is seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic to help maintain and repair the fleet of vehicles and equipment that support its waste and recycling operations. This hands-on role is responsible for performing inspections, preventative maintenance, diagnostics, and repairs to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. The ideal candidate will have experience working with heavy-duty trucks, diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and related equipment. Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance including oil changes, battery checks, and equipment lubrication.
• Conduct vehicle and equipment inspections to identify maintenance needs.
• Diagnose and repair diesel engines and related mechanical systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, steering, and brake systems.
• Perform preventative maintenance to maximize fleet reliability and safety.
• Maintain accurate service and repair records.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company standards.
• Work collaboratively with maintenance and operations teams to minimize downtime.
• Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to identify and resolve mechanical issues.


Qualifications & Requirements

• Experience diagnosing and repairing heavy-duty trucks and diesel equipment.
• Knowledge of diesel engines, electrical systems, suspension systems, steering systems, air brakes, and hydraulics.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage repair priorities.
• Experience with refuse or waste collection equipment is preferred.
• Commitment to workplace safety and quality workmanship.
