About the Role

Knutson Construction is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the successful delivery of commercial construction projects. Working closely with project managers and field teams, you’ll help coordinate project planning, budgeting, scheduling, safety, quality control, and client relationships while gaining experience toward becoming a Project Manager.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with project budgeting, cost tracking, and financial reporting.
• Collaborate with project teams and estimators to understand project scope and develop bid packages.
• Support project scheduling, logistics planning, and RFP responses.
• Review contracts, specifications, and construction documents.
• Help identify and manage project risks while promoting safety and quality standards.
• Participate in project meetings, site reviews, and project closeout activities.
• Build positive relationships with owners, architects, subcontractors, and project stakeholders.
• Support subcontractor coordination and performance management.
• Participate in community involvement and business development opportunities.
• Assist with recruiting, mentoring, and developing project management staff as needed.

Qualifications

Required

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field and at least 4 years of commercial construction experience, or
• Associate degree in a construction-related field and at least 7 years of commercial construction experience.
• Knowledge of construction project management processes.
• Experience with Microsoft Office and project management software.
• Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.

Preferred

• Construction-related certifications or professional training.
