Position Summary
Mayo Clinic is seeking an Assistant Manager for the Mayo Clinic Store to oversee day-to-day operations of the retail medical supply store and related support functions. This leadership role is responsible for staffing, employee development, customer service excellence, operational efficiency, compliance, and inventory management. The Assistant Manager works closely with store leadership to ensure high-quality service, accurate billing practices, and adherence to healthcare regulations.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee daily operations of the Mayo Clinic Store and supporting work centers.
• Manage staffing functions including hiring, coaching, employee development, and performance management.
• Optimize workflow and productivity while maintaining exceptional customer service standards.
• Resolve customer service issues and operational challenges.
• Develop, maintain, and implement store policies and procedures.
• Ensure product selection, merchandising, presentation standards, and pricing accuracy.
• Partner with the Revenue Cycle Manager to support product billing, claims processing, and Medicare/Medicaid compliance.
• Maintain compliance with HIPAA regulations and third-party payer requirements.
• Coordinate employee cross-training and competency development across store locations.
• Participate in special projects and operational initiatives as assigned.
Qualifications & Requirements
• High school diploma required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• With a Bachelor’s degree: minimum 2 years of related experience.
• With a high school diploma: minimum 4 years of related experience.
• Strong customer service orientation and leadership skills.
• Demonstrated abilities in team building, communication, decision-making, and problem-solving.
• Strong business acumen and organizational skills.
• Knowledge of medical terminology preferred.
• Experience with durable medical equipment (DME) preferred.
• Knowledge of HCPCS coding and billing preferred.
• Prior lead or supervisory experience preferred.
• Valid driver’s license if required for assigned duties.
Work Schedule
• Full-time (80 hours per pay period).
• Monday through Friday.
• Standard business hours: 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
• No regular weekend schedule.
