Description

The seen and unseen collide in the extraordinary lives of an ordinary family of grave robbers. Teatro del Pueblo is excited to premier Los Profanadores de la Calle Arenas. Entirely in Spanish, this performance immerses guests in the narrative of a family of graverobbers living in a Caribbean cemetery fifty years in the future when the days are hotter, water is scarcer and they are torn between what they desire and what the world wants for them. Experience song, movement, and some participation.

This project was created by Lelis Brito, composed by Carlisle Evans Peck and collaboratively directed between Brito and Alondra Alamilla Benitez. Los Profanadores de la Calle Arenas will be performed at Park Square Theater May 8-17, 2026.

Performed entirely in Spanish, English subtitles provided.
