Role Overview

Mayo Clinic is seeking a part-time Nursing Station Technician for the Emergency Department in Red Wing, Minnesota. This position supports patient care by assisting clinical staff, performing receptionist and nursing station duties, and maintaining patient care areas within the emergency department environment.

The Nursing Station Technician works closely with healthcare teams to ensure smooth daily operations while delivering high-quality patient support in a collaborative and patient-centered care environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with direct patient care and support nursing staff in the emergency department.
• Perform receptionist and administrative duties at the nursing station.
• Maintain patient care areas and support efficient department operations.
• Communicate with patients, visitors, and healthcare staff in a professional and compassionate manner.
• Support patient flow and assist with maintaining organized clinical workspaces.
• Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary healthcare teams to provide quality patient care.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Previous experience in a healthcare setting as a Health Unit Coordinator (HUC), Nurse Assistant (NA), Nursing Station Technician (NST), Patient Care Assistant (PCA), or similar role preferred.
• Vocational/technical training or an associate degree preferred.
• Completion of a Health Unit Coordinator program preferred.
• Ability to maintain regular and reliable attendance.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross required. Certification may be completed during orientation if not already obtained.

Payment

Hourly pay range: $22.12 – $31.21 per hour.

This position is not benefits eligible.

Schedule

Part-time supplemental/PRN position.

Employees must work:
Minimum of 208 hours per year
At least 24 hours per quarter
At least one weekend shift per quarter
One major holiday if needed

Nonexempt position classification.

Location

Red Wing, Minnesota.

On-site position at Mayo Clinic Health System.

Additional Information

Equivalent positions may include Nurse Assistant (CNA), Patient Care Assistant (PCA), or Health Unit Coordinator (HUC).
