Role Overview
Mayo Clinic is seeking a full-time Medical Administrative Assistant to support clinical and administrative operations in New Prague, Minnesota. This role provides direct support to healthcare providers and patients by coordinating appointments, managing schedules and documents, supporting projects and meetings, and ensuring smooth day-to-day office operations.
The position requires strong organizational skills, professionalism, adaptability, confidentiality, and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide clinical and non-clinical administrative support for healthcare teams and patients.
- Coordinate appointment scheduling, calendars, meetings, events, professional travel, and follow-up activities.
- Manage patient materials and support patient communication needs.
- Prepare documents, presentations, spreadsheets, databases, and correspondence.
- Process invoices, reimbursements, and expense-related tasks.
- Support departmental projects, activities, websites, web pages, and social media accounts.
- Answer telephones and provide timely follow-through on patient and provider requests.
- Serve as a direct contact and resource for patients while supporting healthcare team operations.
- Maintain accuracy, professionalism, confidentiality, and attention to detail in all patient-related activities.
- Utilize multiple computer systems, office equipment, and business software simultaneously.
Qualifications
High school diploma or GED with:
Minimum two years of administrative support experience
OR
One-year degree/diploma in an administrative, business, or medical-related program with at least one year of administrative support experience
OR
Associate degree in an administrative, business, or medical-related field.
Administrative experience should include:
Calendar and meeting coordination
Document and correspondence preparation
Spreadsheet and database management
Use of business-related software
Strong customer service, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills required.
Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask, adapt quickly, and exercise sound judgment in a rapidly changing environment.
Experience with travel coordination and expense management preferred.
Strong computer, telecommunication, and office equipment skills required.
Individuals without medical education or experience must complete a Medical Terminology course within six months of employment. Anatomy and Physiology coursework may also be required depending on role needs.
Recent related work experience within the last ten years preferred.
Payment
Hourly pay range: $21.55 – $30.22 per hour based on education, experience, tenure, and internal equity.

Full-time position.
80 hours per pay period.
Monday through Friday daytime schedule.
Location
New Prague, Minnesota.
On-site Office Support position at Mayo Clinic.
