Role Overview
The LATIS Program Manager supports the strategic and operational work of the Liberal Arts Technologies and Innovation Services (LATIS) Strategic Innovation Office within the College of Liberal Arts (CLA).
This hybrid role combines:
- Program and project management
- Technology infrastructure coordination
- Grant administration
- Strategic operational support
The position works closely with the Associate Director of Leadership and Organizational Development, the Chief Strategic Innovation Officer (CSIO), and the LATIS Senior Leadership Team.
Compensation
- Salary range: $65,000–$78,000
- Hybrid schedule
- On campus at least 3 days/week (typically Tuesday–Thursday)
- Located in Anderson Hall on the UMN Twin Cities West Bank campus
Key Responsibilities
College Innovation Funding Program Manager (40%)
- Manage CLA innovation grant programs
- Coordinate grant committees, timelines, budgets, and communications
- Analyze program data and recommend process improvements
- Prepare reports and track funding allocations
- Manage communications including:
- Announcements
- Deadlines
- Notification letters
- Stakeholder follow-up
- Coordinate meetings and award documentation
College Technology Infrastructure Program Manager (40%)
- Manage technology infrastructure budgets
- Oversee:
- Software licensing
- Hardware/server budgets
- Computer Replacement Programs (CRP & CRP-Flex)
- Coordinate with:
- University Bookstores
- Office of Information Technology (OIT)
- CLA departments
- Develop training guides for purchasing technology
- Audit purchases for policy compliance
- Advocate for faculty/staff/student technology needs
Strategic Innovation Office Support (20%)
- Support strategic projects for the LATIS leadership team
- Assist with Administrative Leaders Program (ALP)
- Lead operational and facilities-related initiatives
- Manage meeting room technology and inventory
- Improve business operations and efficiencies
- Coordinate facilities and workspace improvements
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience totaling at least 4 years
- Experience in at least two of these areas:
- Project/program management
- Organizational management
- Process improvement
- Grants administration
- Demonstrated success managing multiple projects
Preferred Qualifications
- Liberal Arts background or demonstrated interest
- Experience with participatory leadership methods
- Familiarity with:
- University financial operations
- OIT policies
- Purchasing and hospitality processes
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills
- Facilities management experience
- Ability to manage competing priorities
- Strong collaboration skills across diverse stakeholders
